New Wine is ready to entertain at your private party, public venue or corporate or other event. We are an "easy listening band" from New Braunfels, TX whose specialty is 1960's, 70's and 80's soft rock, pop and a little country. New Wine's song list are all top Billboard hits in their day. While New Wine features acoustic guitars, percussion and piano with diverse vocal styles and harmonies we can also provide a beat for dancing if that's what the audience/client wants. New Wine primarily performs as a duo, but can expand to a trio or quartet or, John and Rick are also available to perform as solo artists at your event. Please give us a look/listen and we look forward to your call!
Had them for a grand opening at Texas State. They set the atmosphere with their music and everyone (students) enjoyed them.
Thank you so much for performing at my Pirate Looks at 40 Birthday Party. It was a wonderful evening - the music was perfect and everyone had a wonderful time. New Wine is an excellent value, and we are looking forward to hosting another event this spring/summer with the guys.
Thanks so much for making the party special!
Response from Sailin Shoes:
Thanks Kirsten, we had a blast too! You and your family are a totally cool bunch of folks! John and I would love it if all we did were events like yours. We felt very special, "at home", and appreciated beyond measure and we were personally blessed that we brought some fun to your party. It would be our distinct pleasure to perform for you again in the future!
New Wine is a crowd pleaser and connects well to an audience. I would recommend them for any event. September 2015, Laurel Ridge Treatment Center hired them for a balloon realse. The event was for people who have lost loved ones to suicide. Because of the nature of the event, the music needed to be entertaining but appropriate for the subject. New Wine played 70's and 80's music but also some Christian songs. New Wine did such an incredible job and had a wide variety of songs. Throughout the event, people continuously asked where they could hear New Wine play. Similarly, several people asked how to hire the band. Not only would I highly recommend New Wine for any event, we are hoping to have them back again at our event this September.
Response from Sailin Shoes:
Thank you Alicia. We were honored to provide musical entertainment for your event, which was a very much needed one to help create awareness of the issue as well as provide hope and at least a little happiness for those who've lost loved ones. We look forward to being at your next Hope Rises event!
Fox's Pizza & Tap Room had New Wine play at our place for the first time in 2014. That evening was the most entertaining evening as the music played it was pleasant, easy listening yet with a flair that kept the crowd Entertained and satisfied. We have had them back numerous times and will continue to have them come back. Variety of music keeps the crowd involved and the talent of these guys are amazing. If you ever need a guality entertainment band I highly recommend New Wine at your venue.
Response from Sailin Shoes:
Kevin, if not for you, a lot of folks would not get to hear us play as we do mostly private events. Hands down you (Fox Pizza and Tap Room) are the best place for great eats, craft beers, big screen TVs, fun AND live music in Schertz/Cibolo! We love entertaining there and look forward to continue working with you to bring quality live music to "the Fox" and the music lovers of Schertz/Cibolo!

With New Wine, you will get a professional setup and sound. New Wine uses two Bose L1 Model 2 sound systems run in a stereo configuration for a superior sound that can be as loud as you need or, low enough to allow folks to have conversation while the band is playing. Depending upon the event or venue, New Wine also has a lighting system that is set up. New Wine's "footprint" is small yet our sound can be as big as you need.
You can expect a wide variety of songs across 5 decades that are all professionally performed. For some songs the band likes to encourage audience participation but we also excel as "background music", if that's what you need us to be.
Being a small band but with a lot of versatility, we have an advantage over most other bands. You can expect a wide variety of vocal sounds as New Wine trades off on lead vocals and the majority of the songs have rich harmonies. New Wine uses a mixture of live instruments only as well as live instrumentation augment with bass and drum tracks. This allows us to sound "bigger" if necessary yet the volume can be easily controlled and limited which is next to impossible with live drums.
New Wine was founded by Ray Flores and John Moore in 1999. In forming New Wine, Ray and John had a vision of uniting in their Christian beliefs/faith and their love of music to branch out from their church worship leading experience and into secular venues performing contemporary Christian music as well as secular.
After performing as a duo for almost 10 years, New Wine added multi instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and arranger Rick Linn to make the band a trio and bring more depth to the overall sound and song catalog. The hallmark of New Wine has always been its vocals and during this time, the band featured 3 lead vocalists and 3 part harmonies on most songs. After a several year battle with cancer, Ray left this earth in June of 2015. Ray however wanted New Wine to continue so John and Rick have forged ahead with New Wine again as a duo.
John Moore is a full time music and media professional working in various venues both secular and in the Christian church. John has been a performing musician since he was 7 years old, has played in various bands over the years, and co-owns and operates (along with his wife Diana) a recording studio in Schertz, TX. John plays acoustic guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals with New Wine.
Rick Linn recently retired after a 35+ year career as an IT professional and since July 2015 has become a full-time musician and songwriter. Rick is a self taught musician who began performing in bands since he was a junior in high school. In their live shows, Rick primarily plays keyboards and sings lead and harmony vocals. Rick also has a recording studio in his home outside New Braunfels, TX, primarily to record keyboard and other instrumental tracks for client projects. Both John and Rick are the producers of instrumental track augmentation that New Wine uses to produce a bigger sound for certain songs.
New Wine looks forward to entertaining you and your friends and customers at your public venue or private event. We do this because we love to make music that makes people smile, sing along, tap their toes, dance, or just listen to and think, "wow, that sounds like the radio!"
New Wine's Sound Equipment is top of the line:
2 Chauvet 4 Bar LED side wash lighting
Break music plug-in player
Mackie Onyx 1620i 16 channel mixing console
2 Bose L1 Model 2 Sound systems w/4 subs
Shure microphones
Apple IPads for lyrics
Electricity: The band needs two separate 110 volt, 15 or 20 amps circuits, a dedicated wall plug only for the band lights and equipment. One separate plug for lights and one separate plug for gear. Separate circuits minimize noise from lighting equipment.
Stage: We prefer the stage area be no smaller than 7' in depth and 10' in length. If available, an elevated stage is best for the band. We also need room on the side of the stage for speakers and lights. If the event is on a lawn or unstable ground, please have plywood and stages available. In some cases, the band can be spread out depending on the room and activities.
