Things you can expect with working with Philip is a humble, exciting and professional experience. So that Philip could focus on the clients needs and wants he works with an assistant who manages all the technicalities. All parties will be fully aware and comfortable with signing an simple agreement.
Philip J. Page is a graduate of Queens borough Community College and has continued his studies at various dance intensives, training with the industry’s elite including training at Adelphi University, under Broadway star John Carroll and continuing on with the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
Philip J. Page got an early start classically training at the Art In Motion Dance Center. He began traveling and performing with the Art In Motion Dance Company and later went on to teach classes at Art In Motion. As Philip’s career progressed he began choreographing, dancing, creative directing for recording artist like Lidia Caesar, gospel super star Donnie McCurklin and various other independent recording artists. Philip has performed on platforms that most dream of like State Of The Union in New Orleans and the popular televised McDonalds Gospel Fest. Philip is well versed in all styles of dance. Training in the Horton and Graham techniques, as well as ballet, African, tap and hip-hop has allowed him to be well rounded in a multitude of styles and performance. Philip’s extreme coaching methods and energetic spirits has made him a very popular choreographer among studios all over the New York area teaching master classes for Long Island University , Nassau Community College, Merrick Dance Center, Broadway Dance Academy , Unique Styles Dance Studio and many more.
Growing up in music and dance Philip has fallen in love with the Majorette/Field show style, as it combines many styles and traditions while allowing for creativity and innovation. Joining his high school marching band as a drum major he began to gain local recognition for his show stopping performances.
Philip returned to coach the marching bands kick-line and flags dance team and creative direct the marching bands field shows at the request and under the direction of former recording artist turned music teacher Frank Abel, leading them to win superior titles internationally including News Days battle of the bands televised marching band competition. After 5 years Philip more currently has gone on to continue coaching the Hempstead High School Kick-line Dance Team.
After years of training, traveling the country and freelancing Philip has gained top industry experience and was ready to branch off on his own accord though reluctant at times Philip has opened up his own performing arts studio. Through his expressive and passionate spirit J.P Studio of The Art has crafted an exuberant service that ranges from ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, African, majorette technique and additional creative movements. His flair for dance has placed his artistry in motion where every move displays a multitude of elegance and brilliance. J.P. Studios of The Arts also houses the Sassy Divine Divas Majorette Dance Company who currently holds best in show by the New York state board of commissioners.
Through this journey things have not come easy, but Philip always says that he never loses, if one door closes; it’s a lesson to take with you through the next open door. Philips strong faith in God and the support of his family and friends helps to keep him grounded and motivated and able to dance another day.
Our technical requirements are very simple. We require a deposit before our first schedule rehearsal after signing our booking agreement. clients will give 24 hours advanced notice before canceling a rehearsal date. All music must be mixed and mastered for choreography. Bluetooth or Aux capable loud speaker.
