Chris Coats is a solo acoustic performance featuring original songs and music. Chris has a sound that will appeal to a wide range of listeners. You can hear the influences of well known artists such as the Doors, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains in these original songs. From the haunting melody of "Broken Lullaby" to the rocking beats of "Ra", Chris has a sound all his own.
Chris showed up early. He mingled with the audience, posed for photos, and took time to actually speak to those who came to see him. He delivered a terrific show, and managed to pack the house. I would definitely tell anyone looking for top entertainment to book this talent.
Response from Chris Coats :
Thank you, I enjoyed being able to entertain you all.

When attending one of my shows you can expect a professional, entertaining show. I perform as a solo artist, playing original songs acoustically. Occasionally, special guests may join me to add their own flare to the music. I have also performed covers of well known songs. My sound has been compared to that of The Doors, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains to just name a few. My original songs bring together a mix of alternative rock, classic rock, southern rock, and a slight nod to my bluegrass/country roots.
From haunting melodies, to upbeat riffs, and rocking beats, my music has something to appeal to almost every listener.
My name is Charles Christopher Coats. I am proud father and a dedicated singer/ songwriter that is a mellow and generally peaceful person who enjoys like-minded individuals and intelligent conversation. I enjoy talking to everyone I meet. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so you should listen twice as much as you talk. You may be surprised what you can learn from some people. However, I am intolerent and short fused with artificial and ignorant people. I have been playing live shows with my original band of 20 years "Undecided". From 2003 to 2006, I was the frontman and rhythm guitarist of the band "JunkHead". In my down time between bands, I auditioned for the famous rock band "Days Of The New". Next, I toured as the lead vocalist for "Failure By Design" from 2007 to 2009. I've played shows from New York City, Hollywood, to New Orleans. In the past, I've played bass, drums, piano, and even some trumpet, mandolin, and banjo, but I am a rhythm guitarist and vocalist by nature. Recently, I have worked on my music project called "Coats" with Tantric founder Hugo Ferreria and my original producer Ronnie Festus Fitz. (Black Oak Ark, Ted Nugent, Rosanne Cash, Keith Gilley, etc.) When it is finished, it will be shopped to various ppl and major record labels. Also, auditioned for the band "Tantric" in 2013. In 2016, I auditioned for Stone Temple Pilots and also for FLAW. Recently, I did background vocals on the new Slaves on Dopes album Horse. I am currently playing and performing as a solo acoustic show. I like writing / recording music and lyrics, performing live, playing guitar, and culinary arts.
I cater to venues large or small. I do have my own gear, including a sound system that I bring on tour and to all shows with me in case a venue doesn't have one that can accommodate my needs, or doesn't have one in house.
I try to make it as smooth on the venue as possible, lighting, and sound are handled by myself and my crew. Staging is flexible, although I prefer to be on a raised platform, I can set up on the floor just as easily.
June 23, 2017 • 7:00pm - 9:00pm | Thank you for the music Tribute show |
Although my set list is subject to change from one show to the next, I try to stick to the tried and true favorites.

Wow, there are so many.
Alice in Chains, Ozzy Osbourne, The Doors, Soundgarden, Blind Melon, Pantera, and local bluegrass to name a few. I could go on for days about my musical influences.
