BluChaCha is a versatile Latin Jazz Band based on rhythms like Salsa, Bossa, Nova, Samba, Cuban Son, Bolero and not to forget Cha Cha!
But we also like to cross over to Blues, Jazz Rock, Funk, R&B, Motown, Ska and Reggae and be surprised by our very special spice: Latin - Schlager
Trombonita sings German Schlager (Pop Songs) from the late 60's - early 70's with all new arrangements over a Latin feel!
One thing is super clear: - You want to dance to the GROOVE!!! -
BluChaCha was perfect for our annual Holiday Party. The music was a perfect mix of our requests for some traditional holiday music along with basic samba/latin styled music as well. They were always accommodating to all my requests. Thank you for making our party such a success!
Polished, professional and international! I booked them for our annual wine festival and they won the crowd over with their great selection of dance music and their unique sound. Latin grooves with an international flair. Excellent horn section. Arrived on time, very professional. We will hire them again!
Response from BluChaCha:
Thank you Lex for having us at the Vine festival. It was great exposure for us in an area where we haven't played much yet! What a fun event, we sure will do it again!
BluChaCha, Has a great sound and is very fun and entertaining.Vera is very charming and does a great job of singing,,playing and telling some beautiful stories about her songs. Many Original tunes mixed in with some familiar classics .Beautifully sung in both German and English, BluChaCha,made for a Great Party!
Response from BluChaCha:
Thanks Sam, yes it was a happy party. Thank you also for your great hospitality!
Wow. Talk about easy to work with and loads of dancing fun.
I asked BluChaCha to be the band for a “Welcome to NYC” party I was hosting on a Saturday night in Brooklyn for friends old and new … (I’d just moved from the Bay Area.)
I was very easy to work with band leader Vera “Trombonita” Kemper to arrange a date and talk about the music they do well and I like too.
They played 3 music sets -- 45 min each. They brought their own sound system and a high energy sound: 2 (or 3) trombones, sax, flute, congas, drums, bass, keyboard … the works.
They came more than on time (actually early), and didn’t mind staying to do a couple of extra songs. The party never flagged; everyone danced.
BluChaCha is such an eclectic sound. From Salsa to German Pop. From the Cuban sound to Brazilian. Even reggae!
Vera sent me a playlist ahead of time … though I’d share … KUDOS … and THANK YOU!

BluChaCha's music is very uplifting and happy, you want to dance to the groove! But depending on the needs we can also serve a great back ground sound while dining or give slow and meaningful Jazz sets for a relaxed mode type of gathering. BluChaCha has a well rounded repertoire so they can serve your needs all night long for different modes.
BluChaCha is a continuation of Vera's former Band La Verdad. In between she collaborated with different people, playing and writing different styles of music, also with different instrumentation.
Her passion for Latin Rhythms like Salsa, Bolero, Bossa Nova, Cuban Son and Samba, called her back to the former concept of La Verdad with three driving trombones and a hot rhythm section. But now influenced deeply by Funk, Blues, Soul, Reggae etc. and of course great musicians, she had to create a cross over! Heavy lived lives don't go by without growth!
There it was born, the new baby "BluChaCha" in the late summer of 2014. Now her new band is back to three trombones, a hot rhythm section with drums, piano, bass and percussion but she added guitar and flute!
BluChaCha plays tunes from Vera's album "Buddies & Bones" and her latest album Latin Lady Schlager, but she is constantly writing and arranging new tunes for the band, originals and also well known standards.
She sings German songs from the 60's and early 70's over home cooked Latin Beats! It is a crazy combination which has never been done before and it works well! She also sings in English, known Songs like "Daniel" by Elton John as a ChaCha and "Copacabana" sang by Barry Manilow as a samba, just to mention a few.
The newest addition to the band is a Frank Sinatra - like singer, the warm voiced Eddie Gentile! He sings well known standards over home cooked Latin beats, like "Come Fly with me", " Change Partners", "Moonlight in Vermont", "Beyond the sea" and many more! The arrangements are written to give a full sound, almost big band feel to the songs.
One thing is very clear, you want to dance to the music!!!
With Love, Vera "Trombonita" Kemper
BluChaCha has a small PA system for a small room location and also a big sound system for a large room location, amps, microphones, all stands and monitors are included. We can bring everything the band needs to preform if needed. Lighting can also be provided. But what we do need is a stage or an empty space of around 10' x 12' .
