Packing clubs with horn bands in the mid 80s with high energy funk and R&B, Bart's band "Roadshow"included musicians from Marvin Gaye, Maria Muldar, Mary J Blige, and the Mighty Flyers. Members of Tower of Power horn section would sit in as would Jazz recording artists Tuck and Patti Andress, where Patti would share a R&B ballad with Lead Vocalist Don Thompson ensuring standing ovations.
In the 90's, Bart moved to non-horn bands concentrating on writing, synth, and studio work. He performed with the likes of South Bay Express, Easy Street, Slate, and Make it Happen, adding horn and pop arrangements via keyboard and vocal harmony work. Continuing his passion for original work while raising a family, he concentrated on composition and landed a television commercial in San Jose in which he scored and performed the music for. He formed the band "EQ" to produce his first solo CD. The CD entitled "EQ", was recorded at the Big House in San Jose, and engineered by the late great Dave Shogren (founding member and original bass player of the Doobee Brothers). Dave was impressed with the music, particularly, You're On My Mind, which ended up in the top ten on college radio for more than 15 weeks. EQ disbanded after nearly landing a recording deal with Curb Records.
Bart retired from live performances after moving to Hawaii in 2005 and came out of retirement to play keys and sing backup for James Norman and the Quake from 2009 to mid 2011. You can see Bart perform at the Grand Hyatt on Kauai and various other venues with the Greenstone Project. Expect to see a full rig of Yamaha, Roland and/or Korg synthesizers when seeing Bart perform and a huge synth solo before the end of a typical performance. . .
