Ray Charles: Sarch was called personally by Mr. Charles, "Brother Ray," and asked to hire 10 other musicians, and was flown out to CA to rehearse, then back to NYC for the Ray Charles Tribute at Carnegie Hall. He then played the Newport Jazz Festival, including most major ballparks and Concert Halls in the USA. Ray took 6StringSarch alone with him when he performed on TV Shows and featured Sarch with an on-air guitar solo.
Sarch entered a competitive audition in NYC for an upcoming TV Show and won the position of guitarist, singer, writer, on-screen actor and performer in songs, dance, and comedy skits. The show was called "It's All In Your Head" with The First National Nothing. The group did 3 pilots, and was picked up by NBC-TV for the following season, which was taped and aired by NBC out of Philadelphia. Sarch has never lived down that he had his picture on the cover of TV Guide, something his parents took great delight in, though.
First Album/CD on Arista/Electra Records was with Michael Brecker, Steve Gadd, Jaime Austria, and Bob Mason. It was given the top award, 5Stars, by the Bible of Jazz Magazines, DOWNBEAT, which gave it a glowing review. The second album was for Columbia/Sony Records, and was featured with their top 5 albums of the year. The group was Stardrive, and toured with Jefferson Starship, opening at Radio City Music Hall. Then Stardrive programmed the Star Machine at Hayden Planitarium, performing the music of the album to co-ordinate with the sky show. It was the first of its kind, and a bone fide NYC happening.
University of Tennessee, Knoxville: Sarch auditioned for, and was then offered by Jerry Coker, the position of instructor at the University of Tenn, creating a jazz guitar course, and teaching music theory and jazz improvisation.
Jesus Christ, Superstar, Broadway: 6StringSarch was the guitarist and Assistant Conductor for the Broadway show, "JC, Superstar."
Other Broadway Shows include: "Grease," "The Act," "Dancin', "A Matter of Time," "Mother Earth."
Ornette Coleman: Sarch auditioned for and then recorded with the perennial Jazz Musician of the Year, Ornette Coleman, with Dewey Redman, Ed Blackwell, and Charlie Haden. Sarch had the further honor to debut the first piece ever written for guitar by Ornette at Lincoln Center, NYC, called "Joujouka" as the guest artist with "New and Newer Music."
Concert Platforms: Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, Bottom Line, Radio City Music Hall, Kennedy Center, Village Gate, City Center, Three Rivers Stadium, Houston Astrodome, Latin Quarter, Oberon of Paris, The
Colosseum, Shea Stadium.
Sarch has played on countless records and jingles as a studio musician in NY and Tenn.
Sarch continues to play, explore, study, record, perform, compose, songwrite, and teach at the Jersey Shore, enjoying the best of all worlds.
Sarch is currently expanding and developing his newly invented approach to harmony called "stacking."
I perform standards, jazz, blues, show tunes, originals, rock, and popular.
