Raised in the state of Florida with two musicians as parents, Trish Chaney was introduced to the arts at an early age. By the time she was five, she was putting on song and dance "shows" for family and friends. By the age of twelve, she had her first theatre experience as an understudy for the character "Liesel" in the Sound of Music. In high school she was a thespian who proudly brought home a "Superior" at state competition in voice, dance, and in the one act play category - where she played the lead.
At 18, she traded in her ballet slippers for combat boots and became a police officer. "It was the best performance of my career, so far!" Working as a patrol officer, and at times undercover, Trish utilized her performance training on a regular basis. After seven years of law enforcement, Trish left the field. She missed her passion and in 2004, having never performed for commercial or film, Trish looked to Kathy Laughlin at the Performer's Studio Workshop. She booked her first commercial with Billy Mays. She auditioned for a part in the "Nursery Crimes," but the writer/director felt she was too young for the role. Because the writer liked Trish's work so much, she wrote in a role for her; "Aunt Anna." From there, Trish continued to get used to the camera by performing in short films, commercials, infomercials and PSAs.
Trish moved to Los Angeles for two and half years where she spent her time working non-union commercials and getting her feet wet as a background artist in Hollywood films and television. "You can't get a real feel about this industry until you've spent a decent amount of time on the larger projects. The experience gives you a real sense about all the different aspects of putting together a large production." She earned her first two SAG vouchers in two years. When a family emergency occurred, Trish came back to Florida as a care taker. She dropped out of the perfomance arena for a little over two years. But upon her return, she started booking commercials, a television spot and her first principal role in a independent feature film. "It was kinda scary getting out and auditioning again. I was so nervous, I would literally shake when I had to do a scene or casting. But it's all coming back and I can actually look forward to most auditions again. There's no where to go but up from here!"
