Thru The Wall is a Midwest based Pink Floyd Tribute band. Sporting a customized PA and a matching light show, our focus is presenting an exciting and accurate Pink Floyd experience.
Since 1996’s Division Bell tour, there has been a void which many tribute bands have sought to fill. Brit Floyd and The Australian Pink Floyd Show continue to sell out large venues. While the desire to see live productions of Pink Floyd music continues, not everyone can make a show in a larger cities. Because of this, Thru The Wall took up the challenge of presenting a Pink Floyd show on a smaller regional scale. It is our hope that we can work with you to provide a true Pink Floyd experience for your guests.

Thru The Wall
A Pink Floyd tribute
With the release of 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd abruptly went from a moderately successful acid-rock band to one of rock music's biggest acts. The recording, in fact, remained on Billboard's Top 200 album chart for 741 weeks, longer than any other album in history. Along with 1979's The Wall, it established Pink Floyd as purveyors of a distinctively dark vision. Experimenting with concept albums and pot-friendly studio effects and breaking free of conventional pop-song formats, Pink Floyd prefigured the progressive rock of the Seventies and ambient music of the Eighties. It has been twenty years since Pink Floyd’s last tour and eleven years since Gilmour, Waters, Wright and Mason appeared together at Live 8 in 2005. However, their impact on modern music’s sound reproduction, staging, and light shows is undeniable. From the earliest light shows at the underground UFO club to the most elaborate staging with quadraphonic sound, Pink Floyd was always pushing the boundaries. Roger Waters and David Gilmour continue to tour, playing a mix of both original Pink Floyd material and freshly minted songs of their own, filling every venue to capacity.
Since 1996’s Division Bell tour, there has been a void which many tribute bands have sought to fill. Brit Floyd and The Australian Pink Floyd Show continue to sell out large venues, like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado, around the world with their faithful reproductions of Pink Floyd Shows. The St. Louis-based
El Monstero has taken their show a different direction with a more in your face production and a great amount of fanfare. While the desire to see live productions of Pink Floyd music continues, not everyone can make a weekend show in larger cities. Because of this, Thru The Wall took up the challenge of presenting a Pink Floyd show on a smaller regional scale.
In 2005 Pink Floyd, to the amazement of the world, agreed to a one-time reunion appearance at the Live 8 benefit concert. During rehearsals for the event there was a great deal of discussion about the upcoming performance. In the end David Gilmour made this statement. “Look, we’re doing 4 numbers and at the end of the day, people are expecting to hear the hits exactly the way they sounded in the old days.” It is from these very words that we have taken our cue of playing the music just as it was written.
Our stage show is also the direct result of Pink Floyd’s philosophy as it is our preference to hide in the fog and lights, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the fullness of the production. There are no super stars in the band, rather a bunch of very talented, well-trained musicians who really enjoy the challenge of playing Pink Floyd music. This is a much more difficult path than just jamming the songs, but then how well would “just jamming” Beethoven’s 5th come off?
As a member of Thru The Wall, it is such an amazing experience to look over a crowd and see faces of those from their early teens to couples in their seventies holding hands, all singing every word along with the band. Money cannot buy that type of satisfaction, but it is required for a production with a full light and sound experience. Offering shows with scaled back lighting to a full-on sound and light show, we strive to meet the needs and budgets of any venue. Pink Floyd is truly a band of the ages, and it is our hope that we can work with you to bring this experience to your venue.
Best Regards,
Thru The Wall
