At a Kindred Sisters concert, you can expect to hear anything from Dolly Parton to the Wailin' Jennys to Johnny Cash. The Kindred Sisters also write and arrange their own folk and bluegrass tunes, combining unique instrumentation with a classic sound.
Christine Caven, Ashley Sarver and Lauren Leidahl started The Kindred Sisters in 2013 when a youth camp director from eastern Michigan asked if they knew anyone who could play bluegrass for a Fourth of July event. They combined their musical talents, education and love for folk and bluegrass music and formed The Kindred Sisters. They have been booked with gigs ever since, setting the mood at events ranging from wedding cocktail hours to city park openings. Their sound is both nostalgic and fresh, hearkening back to deep southern roots while incorporating modern instrumentation, classical training and inspirational harmonies.

We most often bring a minimal sound system to events, plugging a single condenser mike into an amp to get a minimalistic feel. We can also plug into any sound system.
