Soul Stew was formed in Washington DC in 2015. Its members range in age from young 20's to, well, old enough to know better; and their musical backgrounds include jazz, gospel, R&B, bossa nova, and calypso. What they share together is a love of classic soul music, by great performers, like James Brown, Sam and Dave, Aretha Franklin, the Temptations, and Wilson Picket., After our very successful debut at Clarendon Day, we are ready to have fun at other events. But we're not like a lot of other bands who say, "we play lots of styles". Nope. We play classic soul.
