Hi! My name is Shannon Craig and I am both a Cellist and a Bassist. I am currently majoring in Music Performance in Long Beach, CA. From a working standpoint, I primarily play at wedding ceremonies/ cocktail hours and I am happy to come to rehearsals, provide musical recommendations, allow you to choose your own music, and provide further insight from my experiences. I have also played at business events, private parties, surprise engagements, and for restaurants. Professionally, I have performed with a wide-range of college level ensembles, with orchestras in Columbus, and at Carnegie Hall in New York. Please feel free to inquire about pricing and details for your event!
Shannon came and provided prelude music and a song during worship. We wanted some cello music to enhance what we already had going on. She came early for rehearsal and was very gracious and easy to work with, demonstrating flexibility and an intuition that allowed her to fit in very well with our other plans. Shannon's professional demeanor combined with her very pleasant disposition made our experience exceptional!
Response from Simply Shannon Music:
Thank you so much! It was a pleasure working with you and your worship team. I'm always available if you're in need of a cellist again!
Shannon was great and even provided us with sound clips of her repertoire prior to the wedding!

Thank you so much! Again- congratulations. Your ceremony was beautiful.
Shannon was very nice to listen to and a pleasure to have at our wedding. The process leading to the day of the wedding was on point. I will and have promoted her to others
Shannon was on-time and already playing when we arrived at our table. She put together a wonderful arrangement for our engagement. I would highly recommend her... you won't be disappointed.

I am excited to work with you and help make your event the best it can be! I will ask if there is a specific genre or mood you'd like and if there are any certain pieces or music you would like to request. My library includes many popular staples but if I do not own the music, I ask for my clients to cover the purchase of the music. I am happy to hunt for the best price on the music or you can send me a link if there is a specific version or website you'd like me to order from. I will not charge you for the extra practice time.
You are also more than welcome to request a rehearsal time if you'd like to go through what is going to be played before the event. However, I try not to surprise you on the day of the event! Rehearsals will be at an extra cost, which is dependent on the distance that I need to travel and how long it will be. And of course, these are not always necessary or required, but if you'd like to touch base on a greater level beforehand, I'm happy to accommodate.
Hi! My name is Shannon Craig and I have been a cellist and a bassist for 8 years. I am majoring in Music Performance at Otterbein University. Let me tell you a little bit about myself!
I have participated in a wide range of gigs, ensembles, and performances, ranging from house-warming parties to Carnegie Hall. From May to October, you can find me playing at the Worthington Farmer's Market and during the school year, you can find me involved with a Chamber Orchestra, a larger String Orchestra, various small ensembles, and after-school elementary string programs. I have played at weddings, corporate dinner parties, festivals, fundraisers, and home events. On a professional scale, I have performed with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra at the Ohio Theatre and more recently, I have performed with the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Performing has always been a passion of mine and I pride myself on taking every single one of my performances seriously by maintaining a level of professionalism and reliability. Communication between the artist and the client is incredibly important to me and I strive to maintain a connection that keeps you feeling comfortable and confident about how my services will fit into your event. Once we are working together, especially for larger events such as weddings, I am more than happy to give you my personal cell phone number and encourage you to call as early and often as you need. As a musician and as a person, I will consistently make sure that I am attentive to your needs and requests. I believe that as a musician, the events that I play for go beyond just an opportunity for me to receive a paycheck. I want to help make your event as special and successful as possible. Music is a passion of mine, and that extends beyond any financial benefits.
I hope you can find confidence in my services and I look forward to working with you in any way that I can
I ask for you to inform me if I need to bring a chair beforehand. I am happy to bring my own stand but since I am reading music, I do need a little light!
Also, for clarification, both of the instruments I play are acoustic. Please keep noise level in mind, especially if you are requesting me on upright bass. My volume level is considerately flexible however, especially on cello, so unless your event will be exceptionally loud, there shouldn't be any issues!

I have pieces from Bach, Schumann, Vivaldi and other classical compositions. I also have contemporary, upbeat music to perform as well.
I have been influenced by groups ranging from 2Cellos to the New York Philharmonic. But more than anything, the musicians and performances I participate in influence me to strive for quality in my music.
Please inform me if I need to bring a chair or additional lighting.
I will be bringing a silver metal stand for my music, if this does not fit your event, I ask for you to provide a different stand.
Please let me know where you would like my case. Both cases only take up a couple feet but think about whether or not you'd want me to store it somewhere for your event!
