Sean is Artist in Residence at Kennesaw State University, Artist Affiliate at Berry College, and performs regularly as a solo classical musician or with groups. He provides classical guitar music for special events, wedding ceremonies, restaurants, and more. Sean is a trained musician with a Bachelor's and Masters in Music Performance from The University of Georgia, where he was also a teaching assistant. With experience in a wide variety of styles and genres, his unique sound will bring a pleasurable atmosphere to any occasion. Sean also sings and plays acoustic guitar if your looking for a different feel to your event.
Sean was “background” for a holiday party at our condominium. He was great. His music/style was so captivating that many sat or stood nearby simply to listen to his performance. He was delightful to work with and professional. Would hire him again in a minute.

Sean was the guitar solo At my husband’s celebration of life ceremony. His music was absolutely beautiful he played several songs that I had requested in advance. He is very professional and very personable. I would highly recommend him for any event.

Sean Thrower is a guitarist with interest and versatility in an eclectic mix of playing styles and genres, which has led him to perform in a wide variety of settings and venues across the world. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance from the University of Georgia where he studied classical guitar with renowned pedagogue, John Sutherland (a protégé of Andrés Segovia) and founding member of the Georgia Guitar Quartet, Dr. Philip Snyder.
During his collegiate studies, Sean had the privilege to study jazz under Steve Dancz, perform as a solo guitarist with the UGA Symphony Orchestra, and perform in masterclasses for multiple Grammy winning artists. While achieving his master’s degree, Sean held a teaching assistant position and taught the guitar methods course at UGA. Upon request, he performed for his own graduation convocation to an audience of his fellow professors, graduating classmates, and all of their invited guests. Throughout his career, he has also received tutelage from jazz instructors Trey Wright and Dave D’Angelo, as well as classical instructors Terry Cantwell and Mary Akerman.
As an author and composer, Sean has written and published three music books. Another outlet for his writing started in 2017 when he founded Guitar Ramble, now an LLC which he runs with his long-time band mate and business partner, Sam Green. Guitar Ramble is a website dedicated to fostering a greater connection amongst guitarists from all styles and genres that have interest in broadening their creative and technical musical pursuits. Posts include lessons, gear reviews, music articles, and other guitar related content.
As an instructor, Sean has taught many students through his own studio and various institutions. In 2015, he founded the Rome Guitar Institute in Rome, Georgia, where he has instructed students of all ages on electric, acoustic, and classical guitar, as well as bass guitar, ukulele, and mandolin. Currently, he is on staff at Berry College and Kennesaw State University.
If needed, amplification can be provided for small or large events.
Microphones can also be provided for speakers/presenters.
