Crowds are always pleased with Samantha's articulate playing, her dedicated, heartfelt performances and over-present love for the music.
Born and raised in Manhattan, NY, Samantha began Suzuki training of piano, ear training and theory at the age of 5 at Mannes College of Music with Li-Chen Hwang. Throughout high school, she studied under Thomas Osuga, participating in various festivals in NYC and the northeast.
While earning her Bachelor of Arts degree at Scripps College, she majored in piano performance and was a member of Hao Huang's piano studio. She performed regularly and also studied chamber music, ear training, advanced music theory, conducting, jazz piano and music history.
Samantha had the distinct privilege to study solo piano and chamber music in Vienna, Austria, in 2009 with Genie Russo and Carolyn Hague. She was the winner of the Claremont Concert Orchestra Concerto Competition in 2010 and the Gladys Pattison Music Award in 2011. She now maintains an active studio in Pasadena, CA, and also works as a freelance pianist for events, and as an accompanist and collaborator.
