A Celebration of Love, Joy & Connection!
My show is highly interactive! I choose 9 or so original songs that involve some kind of movement (e.g. pretending to be animals on safari) or props. During "Rainbow," the kids are given shiny ribbons attached to little handles ("rainbow wands"), which the kids love waving around with the music. During "Share the Earth," the kids gather around a parachute and bounce a big "Earth" ball up in the air. For my finale, "Bubbles," we turn on a high output bubble machine, and the kids have a blast popping HUNDREDS of bubbles! Even the grownups have a great time!
*****At this time I am not performing at birthday parties.*****
Evan was amazing from start to finish. My daughter and all of our guests, young and old, enjoyed the interactive show he put on.
Evan played for my 2 year old son's birthday party, & was amazing! Very professional came on time and played a fun music set! Kids loved the bubbles at the end. Highly recommend for any children's occasion and any age group!
Response from Evan Gottfried: Family Music for Kids of All Ages!:
Thanks so much for your kind review! It was such a treat getting to meet you guys and be a part of your special day!
We were at a birthday party last March and loved Evan's performance! We knew when picking entertainment for our son's recent birthday party it was a no brainer! Evan is amazing with the kids & loved by all. Thank you Evan for being so kind and patient with the children!
I booked Evan for my daugther's first birthday party. My daughter is usually a little weary of strangers so I didn't think that a clown or magician would be a good option to go, but everytime that she hears music, she shakes her little booty! From the moment that Evan started, my daughter was front and center, dancing and playing away. Evan had little props for the kids to use and she was able to join in in all the fun! We had kids from as little as 7 months to 10 years old. They all loved the show, especially the bubbles!!!
At first some of the adults weren't sure that they would like the kids music, but almost everyone at the party approached me afterwards asking for his information. He was very easy to work with and kept in communication so I knew when to expect him and if I needed to prep an area in advance. I have and will be recommending him to everyone I know.
I know I will definitely be using him in the future!! He made my daughter's birthday special for our whole family and I will cherish those memories!
Evan was great! The children had so much fun singing and dancing around the room with he and his lovely wife. Evan was in constant communication with me from the very first day that I reached out to him until a few hours before the event. He allowed them to be a part of every song that he performed by giving out different props which I particularly enjoyed. If you're looking for someone to bring quality, family fun for children ages 0-7years, he's your guy!
Evan came to our home to entertain our children’s double birthday party, ages 5 and 3. He was a huge, huge hit, very interactive and entertaining and he literally got every child on his or her feet dancing—even the older siblings! He was very easy to work with when planning the party. I highly recommend him for any children’s event.
Evan performed at my daughter’s birthday party and it was truly a memorable experience! There were kids ranging in age from 1 to 10 and Evan had everyone (even the grown-ups) singing, dancing and having a blast! He engaged everyone with his creative lyrics, fun props and interactive songs. Evan is a talented musician, wonderful entertainer and extremely professional to work with. I would highly recommend him for a children’s (any age) party or event.
My two sons and I have attended multiple performances by Evan Gottfried and we enjoy each one so much! He adds awesome elements of fun and a little surprise in each one to help make the children feel like they are all a part of his wonderful music. Whether it be digging with a tiny shovel, waving beautiful rainbow ribbon wands or feeding a surprise guest puppet, Evan humbly yet actively engages children of all ages and abilities to participate in his musical extravanza. The songs are so meaningful and catchy to all kids. The spirit and true meaning of childhood resonates through his songs. Evan brought love and playfulness in a time of grieving and shock in our small and loving community dealing with great sorrow and trauma. He contributed to the healing process, in our time of tragedy, by demonstrating that there are countless wonderful, caring and good people in this world. We love Evan's music!

Early Life
Evan has been making music since he was a kid growing up on Long Island. He and his younger brother, Adam, would perform epic rock concerts for their parents in Evan's room. For some reason their idea of a stage was a blanket hung up in front of them, so that that they could only be seen from the waist up, as if they were puppets. Their biggest hit was, "Bad Little Girl Wouldn't Drink Her Milk," which chronicled all the not-so-good things that happened to that girl as a result of her not drinking her milk. Nowadays Evan's lyrics are generally more upbeat, though no less entertaining.
The College Years
Evan’s passion for creating music would only grow as the years passed. When he wasn't playing music, he was often reading, and eventually decided to study English literature at NYU. Halfway through college, Evan had a moment in which he thought, "I'm tired of writing papers about books; I want to work with actual people and make a difference in their lives.” So he decided to become a special education teacher. Evan had spent a lot of time in his teenage years volunteering with kids and adults with special needs, and was well-aware of the many challenges and rewards that awaited him in this profession.
Inspiration
Evan has been teaching students with severe and multiple disabilities since 2004, and frequently uses music as a teaching tool, aiding his students in their exploration of the world around (link hidden)e connection that music fosters among people, regardless of ability or background, never ceases to amaze him. In 2005, Evan started writing songs again, primarily for"big people" a.k.a. grown-ups. His first song was called "Maggie," a birthday present to his future wife, whose name, you might have guessed, is Maggie.
In 2007, Evan, Maggie, and their three girls moved from Bergen County, NJ (a stone’s throw from NYC) to the Hudson Valley. This was a refreshing change in lifestyle: They now have a forest behind their backyard, and get to see lots of cool animals.
The Message
In 2010, finding himself with one very musical young daughter, and another one on the way, Evan got the idea to make an album for kids. Evan worked diligently to turn this idea into a reality, crafting a number of fun and touching songs over the next several months.
In the Spring of 2011, Evan met Matt Lamborn, the recording engineer who would help turn a collection of songs into an actual album. The album would be titled "Reach Up!” According to Evan, the title is meant to reflect both the spirit of imagination that the song describes, as well as a message of empowerment through determination.
Evan hopes to inspire kids to be creative and silly, have fun, learn cool things, and mostly, to just be themselves. He hopes that the big people who hear his music will also find inspiration, and that they may even remember how it feels to be a kid.
Evan is currently working on his second, as yet untitled cd.
