Adam, Thank you for your professionalism and guidance during this very difficult time. Your skill at the bagpipes added grace and elegance. Amazing grace was exceptional I know my mother was smiling from heaven.
Adam, thank you so much for playing at my mother's service at the cemetery. You truly are a professional in every sense of the word. Your music was beautiful and everyone in attendance said it was a nice touch. Thank you for being there for me.
Price Range: From $225
For your wedding I can perform 20 minutes prior to the ceremony as guests are arriving and the length of your reciving line outside after the ceremony. I can also perform your processional and recessional music as you walk down the aisle and back out afterward.
Funeral services include performing at the funeral home or church prior to the service as the procession arrives and guests enter. The pipes are typically played after as guests return to their vehicles and also the arrival at the cemetery. Amazing Grace is typically played at the conclusion of the graveside ceremony as the final piece unless another is requested.
Adam Holdaway began playing bagpipes at the age of eleven under the instruction of renowned piping instructor Archie MacLeod. Since, Adam has competed throughout the Eastern US and has won prizes for Piper of the Day at nearly every contest in the Northeast. Adam has won prizes not only in the US, but also in Scotland and Canada, including a second place in the Professional 'A grade' Piobaireachd (classical music for the bagpipes) in Perth, Scotland.
In addition to his own solo achievements, Holdaway has been the pipe major of the Stuart Highlanders since 2002, and was instrumental in their upgrades from grade 5 to grade 1. With the addition of a new grade 4 and 5 band, the Stuart Highlanders enjoy being Massachusetts’ largest bagpiping organization.
Besides competitions, Adam has single-handedly produced and conducted piping concerts and recitals throughout Massachusetts. He can be heard on several movie soundtracks, including the box office hit, The Boondock Saints.
Adam holds a graduate certificate from the Institute of Piping in Scotland and is a certified judge for the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association.
